About This Test

This diagnostic tool detects the NS1 protein of the Dengue virus in blood, particularly useful during the early phase of infection, typically within the first 1–7 days of symptom onset. The test identifies the non-structural protein 1 (NS1) secreted by the dengue virus during acute infection. The presence of NS1 in the blood indicates an ongoing dengue infection and appears before antibodies develop.

Used For

Early diagnosis and monitoring of dengue infection. Recommended for individuals with fever who reside in or have traveled to dengue-risk areas, especially those experiencing severe headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle pain, joint pain, or rash.
